The mission of Connections Community Services is to be a leading provider of programs and services that are responsive to the diverse needs of children, youth and families.

We will work towards a better tomorrow by connecting our community and supporting our children, youth and families to thrive and reach for their dreams.

Daylene Jones

Executive Director

Daylene began working with Connections Community Services Society in 2012, when it was known as Richmond Youth Services Association, (RYSA). Daylene has held several leadership roles with the agency including most recently, Acting Executive Director. In September 2020, Daylene was confirmed as the permanent Executive Director. Daylene is known for her leadership excellence and her ability to build strong relationships with program participants, community colleagues, supporters, staff, donors and partners. At home, Daylene is a busy mom to two young boys.

Sue Street

Director of Development

Sue has worked in not for profit for the majority of her career. Sue has fundraised for a variety of organizations in the lower mainland and her experience has crossed many sectors – the arts, education, and community service. Joining Connections last June has been a wonderful opportunity for Sue to work in the same community where she lives. She works with a devoted team of people who are a source of inspiration. When not at work, Sue spends time with her daughter, her dog and cat and her extended family and friends.

Matthew Dyck

Coordinator, Indigenous Programs

Matthew is an indigenous person with Nehiyawak (Mountain Cree), Siksiká (Blackfoot), Metis, and Celtic ancestry from Calgary, Alberta. For over 20 plus years he has worked with non-profit organizations in both Alberta and British Columbia to help support, facilitate, and coach people of all ages in the areas of personal wellness and safety. Matthew is also a published writer and photographer, voice over artist/narrator for the both the commercial and entertainment industry, and a professional coach who has appeared on many radio and television programs both locally and internationally.

Daniel Suen

Coordinator, Youth Program

Daniel has many years of front-line experience in providing supportive counseling to at-risk youth, immigrant youth, and/or youth with multiple barriers. With his dedication and passion for serving the community, Daniel has received the “Best Quality Clients’ Service Award” and also received awards for “Outstanding Contribution” to youth programs. Daniel’s goal is to provide encouragement and motivate youth to make realistic and successful academic and career decisions and promote personal development and positive community engagement. He is known to easily connect with people due to his contagious enthusiasm and his passion for helping others thrive!

Jane Reed

Coordinator, Children’s Programs

Jane has been with Connections for over 25 years, working in various capacities with children and youth. Currently, she oversees our four before and after school programs located in Richmond and West Vancouver. Before coming to Connections, Jane worked in many youth-oriented settings, both residential and nonresidential, in Ontario, Alberta and BC. Outside of work she enjoys volunteering, travelling and sports (both as a participant and as a fan).

Ning Huang

Coordinator, Employment Programs

Ning joined Connections in 2017. Currently, she is an Employment Counsellor and Program Coordinator for Youth Works and Youth Employment Connect Program.  She is passionate about helping youth to set and reach their employment and education goals. She has supported over 350 youth to date. When she is not working, Ning enjoys yoga, reading, swimming, table-tennis, dancing, and video making.
